Prof.(Dr) Asim Kumar Ghosh is well known among students of ophthalmology (both undergraduates and post-graduates) for his academic excellence and energetic guidance. In his vast experience of more than 25 years in medical education he has been in different medical colleges of West Bengal. During his tenure as the HOD, Dept. of Ophthalmology, NBMCH, post-graduation course in Ophthalmology was initiated in NBMCH. He was awarded “The Best Teacher in Ophthalmology” award in the ACOIN 2020 conference in Kolkata. He has delivered many guest lectures in different state and national conferences. He is also well known for the surgical skill transfer to his students both in the anterior and the posterior segment surgeries. Presently he is the Director and the chief of Vitreo-Retina services in the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Kolkata.
